The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina will break ground on a Lumbee Boys & Girls Club and community center on Friday. The 11:30 a.m. event will be held on site, at the intersection of Hilly Branch and Back Swamp roads in Tribal District 2. The district consists of the communities of Back Swamp, Fairmont and Smyrna. The public is invited. The community center will allow tribal members a place for meetings, fellowship and social events, as well as for outreach for tribal services.
